Are you having a successful run on your New Years resolutions this year? From the feedback, many people have had a few slips and falls, and even a few tucks and runs, but for the most part it has been pretty successful for most. No matter how old we are, or how entrenched we are in the busyness of our lives, change is hard for all of us.
We learn that after a period of time doing almost anything, even if it was difficult at the beginning become easier. This can mean your job, eating style, exercise, or even going back to school. I think many of the things we do end up in almost a non thinking style, and it is almost like we are in an episode of the movie Groundhog day, and we do the same things every day. They say we almost unconsciously do things daily that if we were filmed doing them we may be shocked to know how easily we managed our routines. So when someone approaches a change that uproots anything that has become routine, it is never an easy process.
Many people in our lives feel free to comment, out of concern I would hope, about changes that need to be made  or that you need to address this and that, and why are you waiting so long to get this process going. Ignore them, which is difficult because when you get to the end of the day, our lives, our habits, our voices and the things we do that may even be life hurting are ours to fix, or not.
So be it a healthier way of eating, quitting drinking or smoking, going back to the gym or back to school, ending an abusive relationship, organizing your life to breaking free and getting a new start on life, try to remember these
few things about change.
1- Do it for yourself and nobody else.
2- Plan it out, and talk to someone for help and support when you need it.
3- Realize you may fall, or stumble or step from side to side, but that does not mean failure.
4- Remind yourself every day that change may be difficult but you deserve the wonderful benefits after the journey is over.

Life can be short, frustrating and stressful, but it can also be incredible and stimulation and full of love. Be ready for your healthier and better for you journey... Because you deserve it!

My name is Jeffrey Burke. I have been in the health and nutrition field for well over three decades. In August 2012 I was inducted into the Nevada Broadcasting Hall Of Fame. It was an amazing honor to be honored at the Gala event.

I enjoy spreading the word on nutrition, and with streaming I am able to do it worldwide. This has been a goal and dream of mine for many years, and living this dream, as it unfolds, is incredible. Knowledge truly is important for great health, and having the most up to date information is key.

Jeff has been posting about nutrition and health since 2006. See those posts here:
